NOOKS Volleyball Club

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, NOOKS Volleyball Club is a non-profit club dedicated to providing the highest quality club experience. We offer each athlete the opportunity to reach their full potential as a volleyball player and a person as they train in a competitive and fun environment with dedicated, qualified coaches.

Our gym times this weekend have been canceled due to the recent restrictions put in place to slow the spread of Covid-19.  Once we are able, we will reschedule tryouts and hope to get back in the gym as soon as it's safe to do so.

NOOKS Covid Response

NOOKS Volleyball Club is looking forward to being back in the gym and have made efforts to ensure the safety of our athletes, coaches and families during the COVID-19 outbreak. 

TRAINING PROTOCOL

  • Equipment will be sanitizedbefore and after every cohort session.  Balls will be sanitized prior to training and mid-session.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for athletes during training session
  • Face masks are to be worn whenever athletes are not on the volleyball court for training.
  • We will require  athlete and coach health checks to be completed prior to each session
  • Parents and spectators are not allowed at this time, except for drop-offs and pick-ups of younger athletes
  • We will do our best to encourage athletes to maintain proper social distancing before and after sessions.

Preventing further spread

In order to assist with containing the spread of the Novel coronavirus, we encourage the following:

  • Take the COVID 19 Self Assessment
  • Stay home if you feel unwell - self isolate - Call 811 immediately before leaving your home.
  • Frequently wash your hands
  • Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with SOAP & WATER.  If soap & water are not an option, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer may be used.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Practice respiratory hygiene
  • Follow good respiratory hygiene; cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze (dispose of the used tissue immediately).
  • Keep at least 1-metre distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early

In the event that participants become diagnosed with the Novel coronavirus and have attended a Cohort Training Session within 21 days of symptoms showing, we ask that you notify us to allow for the most up-to-date and accurate information to be provided to the health authorities.

2 NOOKS Named to Junior National Team

Congratulations to Kaylee Plouffe and Kendra Kern  who were selected to the 2020 Virtual Junior Team Canada roster and the 2019 Canadian Youth National Team.  Kaylee and Kendra trained with the team in Maribor, Slovenia before competing in the U18 FIVB World Championships in Cairo, Egypt in September, 2019.  Team Canada qualified for U18 Worlds for the first time in over 30 years and had a very successful tournament, finishing 14th overall.  Great job girls!


Team Alberta Selections 2019

Congratulations to Alysha Bryks and Lauren Kauffeldt  who were named to U17 Team Alberta 2019.  Team Alberta athletes will be training in Calgary in July, preparing to compete at the Canada Cup being held in Halifax July 17-21.
